I'm making REALMS currently. There will be no No-Brainers or Game Grump animations for quite sometime, unless I can squeeze it in to my schedule.

You can check out REALMS HERE!!!!

I hope you like REALMS. Oh, just for the sake of confusion, It starts as animated .gifs, then goes to normal images due to color issues. Also, there will be flash animations and games, so look forward to that.

PIC: Me working on the next update as of 9/24/12

Realms Updates - Go read it.

Happy Madness Day 2012 everyone!

MADNESS DAY '12

You should donate to REALMS! It's a new comic/flash animation/flash game series that I'm trying to do right now!

Why should you donate?? Well, REALMS is going to be my next big project that I work on for(ever) a while. I'm also going to be doing side stories such as possible No-Brainer shorts, and even more Game Grumps animations. If you check out the Indiegogo, you'll see that there are "Marks" that I've included in order to make your interest in the Indiegogo even higher. The marks right now are basically bring another episode of the Game Grumps animation when we reach $200, and I finish the No-Brainer series at $600. See, you could be working up to these semi-goals, in order to overall reach our Ultimate-Goal.

I'd love it if you donated, because it's my dream to make something that stands out, and comics have always interested me. So with the power of my animation skills and somewhat comic style, I really hope to take you on an adventure with REALMS. Its going to be a blast, and I hope you like it.

Donate to REALMS!

So I've been doing animations for about 2 years now, and have been trying to work up my style and method of animation, as well as my techniques to become an animator who can have some decent credit on the Internet. Recently I've made two animations and put them on YouTube and have gotten over 100,000 views on them combined. That's really saying something right now about where my animations should be going as of now. I am not saying I'm leaving Newgrounds at all, because I have some news for that which will let you all know i'm here to stay.

So that's the video which sparked my YouTube career. I know i'm riding the coattails of something successful, but it's really shown the people what I can do, and they've liked/loved it. This has made me want to grow my talent even more, but such a thought has boggled my mind now. To now work at something as if it were my job now is kind of mind-boggling, and puts me in a nervous state. I now have fans to appeal to, and if I don't make work worth watching to others, supposed to just me wanting to make something for myself, I will indeed lose the fans I've made. It's nice having fans, so I guess i've stepped foot into new territory were my ass is on the line if my content isn't "good enough." I'm already being compared to Egoraptor whether or not my content is better than his for Game Grumps, a new channel that him and JonTron have made recently. So far, lots of people like me, but from what I'm getting, most prefer Egoraptor, which is no surprise.

To know i'm being compared to such a talented person is such an honor. It does make me want to grow as an animator. But now i've recently been watching all these things dealing with Edmund McMillen (Guy who made Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac), and I've become so infatuated with the idea of being a game developer. This is the part where I explain my stay on Newgrounds. Newgrounds is the only place I know where I can get help from other users and submit Flash Games. I know theres other places, but I trust Newgrounds too much to turn my back on it. So yes, I'm going to try making a Flash Game or two, and they'll be as original as possible. I will not promise anything super original, but at least I can try to go for something playable and enjoyable. They'll be quite simple games, and shouldn't take long at all.

Now, all this wanting to improve my animation and wanting to be a gave developer must put me into a state of confusion, and it does. But I figure combining the two will form something great for me. Now another thing might come up to you as well. WHERE THE FUCK IS NO-BRAINER 5?? Sadly enough, sitting in my Flash Folder not being worked on. No-Brainer has just been so off my mind lately. I guess this must be the part i'm going through were some of my first projects just start to seem meaningless and un-interesting..not saying anything officially yet, but I think No-Brainer (The flash series itself) is dying. It just seems to me that those were starting grounds, to get some background knowledge of Flash, and try to do stuff with it. No-Brainer, being one of my characters put on the shelf after doing something with another project at age 13, I just decided to use him one day. Now it's 5 years later and I've grown accustomed to No-Brainer and the gang, but I just don't want to make a huge series out of him anymore. I would explain what's happening with him a bit more, but even I don't understand at the moment.

I'm sorry if this has been a long read, but I like to post these blogs to help me understand what's going on with my stuff, and to help you understand too.

To recap what you just read, I'm going to make some Flash Games (or try anyway), I may be sticking to YouTube to post my animations, and No-Brainer 5 may be the last No-Brainer episode ever. Oh, also the Xbox Indie Game was cancelled, DIDJA SEE THAT ONE COMING? I SURE AS HELL DID.

Hey there folks.

The Indie Game has officially started as of today. We are still currently looking for Music people to make a soundtrack for the game. This soundtrack would be possibly 9-10 songs with a possible pay for the music. The motivation to help us is to be generous to help, and not in it for pay. As of now, we will be using music from the Audio Portal that suits the games style of music. The theme of the music should fit in with the feeling of being in a mansion with under lying secrets. Yeah, I basically just gave you our theme right there.

I'm making a teaser trailer for the game currently. And YES the 5th episode of No-Brainer is still being put on hold. I can explain once again why this is happening. I have no motivation to finish the episode, but I WILL finish it sometime.

To give you a clear concise understanding of what our game is, here is the summary of what's happening:

- No-Brainer, Todd, and Billy have entered the woods one day during the fall for a hike. They stumble upon an old abandoned Mansion and enter it without question. Soon, the door slams behind them and they hear an evil laugh in the background. Soon, two dark holes open up, sucking Todd and Billy into each hole. A figure appears from the darkness revealing someone. No-Brainer has no idea who this is, but it's up to him to play this mans games in order to free his friends and others also trapped in the mansion.

Now, as I write this, it sounds a lot like BattleBlock Theater but we are trying our best to be original and make this game feel like our own. Don't worry, we aren't copying anything (we hope).

The game is being developed for Xbox Live Indie Games, and we are aiming to hopefully have something available for you in the coming year of 2013.

I will release one more toon (the Animated Teaser for the game) for Newgrounds, then it's back to Hiatus on cartoons, and a LOT of work on the game. Thanks for being a fan, hopefully you'll keep up to date with us on Twitter at our Twitter Page, where we'll have lots of concept art, and updates waiting for you :)

Catch ya later No-Brainers.

No-Brainer Indie Game officially started.

No-Brainer Cartoons is going on Hiatus until further notice.

The reason behind this is that a lot of problems have come up into my life which have really put me down into a state in which I really don't want to work on anything. It's not just personal problems, but also family related issues and educational reasons too. I would seriously love to show everyone NB5 as soon as possible, but with the things going on here, it's just not going to happen.

I don't want anyone thinking "No-Brainer Cartoons is dead, there will be no more cartoons ever." I love animation, and drawing No-Brainer and other things as well, but I have to go on Hiatus otherwise i'm going to stress myself out way to much to even bare. No-Brainer Episode 5 will come with time, No-Brainer Episode 4 came out like 3 months ago, and the episode before that was a year ago! I can't promise what the future of No-Brainer Cartoons is going to be for a while, but all I ask of you is to stay in tact with the page, go watch some of my old stuff, and pray that things get better.

Post another time folks,
~Derrek Buerger

No-Brainer is making its way around to the very exciting scenes now, and is much more fun to be working on! Still not going to be giving out animation details obviously, but I would like to mention that TomaMoto (Josh Tomar) will be voicing in this cartoon! I'm very excited to have him featured in one of my works. He was originally going to be an Announcer for No-Brainer Arena but then that project went down the shitter.

Special video for all!

It's honestly getting harder and harder to say how far into the animation I am. I did hardly any storyboard work for this, so i'm pretty much going with my instincts on what SHOULD happen. It's getting tricky. I guess if any of you really want to know where it's at, I'd say it's halfway done, not including lip-sync I have yet to do.

Should be out within the month or Early September. Look for it then!

'Ello.

No-Brainer 5 has been kinda slowed down. Prepare to hear my personal problems, but I have developed a nocturnal sleeping schedule. It's BAD. I've become so incredibly lazy that I refused to work on NB5 until it was fixed. Luckily I overcame that motion, and started it again after 3 days of not working on it. My goal is 30 seconds a day, which shouldn't be that hard, and could get the cartoon out faster.

I've been playing a LOT of LoL (League of Legends) and apparently I suck hard. Think i'm going to just leave that game alone, because everyone is kind of an asshole.

I've started 2 other projects as well, but are being put on hold until NB5 is finished, and if I have to time to work on them in-between the Indie Games development. One is a new series, the other is an animated short on one of my friends Let's Play series.

The 60 Frame Collab is coming soon as well! It was started by Mckellard (hope i spelt that right) and revived by Carr. I made 3 parts that will be featured, so I hope you get to see that soon!

Everything is going by slow, but we're making progress, so don't worry, things will come out eventually. Live long and swag on folks.

Some upcoming things and such

Heya everybody. Time for another post.

No-Brainer Episode 5 is currently in development, and is almost at the 1 minute mark, and is at Frame 1225. Kinda blazing through this one, so maybe it'll come sooner than I expected it. Still no spoilers for this episode as well, but I have released a screenshot with some words on it, hope that pleases you. Alright, let's get to the main point.

NO-BRAINER ARENA IS FUCKING DEAD. I HATE TO SAY IT, BUT IT'S FUCKING DEAD (UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE)

New No-Brainer Indie Game:
- It almost seems like the Indie Games is a reasonable course of action if I want to make a public game out there for No-Brainer fans ON THE XBOX. The details of this game is still a mystery to me even. Of course, I have been planning some things, and as far as I can tell, it's going to be a Final Fantasy like game, where you can travel throughout No-Brainers World, and explore and defeat huge enemy bosses, with exciting TURN BASED COMBAT AND RPG ELEMENTS.

Some that read that will probably think, "Oh it's just another person with Wishful Thinking." I'd like to tell them that their DEAD FUCKING WRONG. With the Newgrounds Forums and the community being Jam-Packed with skills dealing with every thing out there, I figured I'll go to the Collaboration Forum and ask for people who have worked with XNA to help me make this game. I want it to be a good game, which is a common thought on how you want a video game to be, but what I mean is it's not going to be some cheap ass game made in like 5 days. It's going to take a while to make, and honestly i'm ready, and the fans I have might be, to have a No-Brainer Video Game.

I should point out that none of this Video Game business is happening until No-Brainer Episode 5 comes out. I really have been giving the Game to much thought. I haven't been focusing on No-Brainer 5 enough, I think. I'm going to change this, as I will do all the necessary work for the game once the episode is done.

If you have any skills regarding work for Indie Games, whether it be programming, art, or music, please contact me at derrek1o3@hotmail.com with what you could do. Please have some work to show though.

No-Brainer Episode 5 should be out soon enough. Not giving a date because you all know what happens with me sometimes. Well, that's all the news I got for you this week, or month, or day. Peace out fellow fans.

No-Brainer 5 and INDIE GAMES

He yall, got some INCREDIBLY AWESOME NEWS!

So yes, in the title, it says scholarship. During the Summer Studio up in Minnesota, there was awards for Best In Show for every class, like Media Arts & Animation, Web Design, Culinary, etc. I won Best In Show for Media Arts & Animation, and awarded a $1000 Scholarship for the Art Institutes of International Minneapolis! I made a 30 second animation for the class as a final, and I posted it on YouTube so everyone can watch it!

Here is the video:

That only took 2 days to make, working from 8am, to 3:30pm. This shows I can make animations longer, and faster. Prepare yourself for a summer of No-Brainer Cartoons best.

Also, on the subject of No-Brainer Cartoons, I'm not sure what to do with No-Brainer Arena right now. I guess booting it back up was a bad idea. I guess I might do that when I want to, which might be around the time i'm done with No-Brainer 5. Iduuno. You can support the project by liking the page on Facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/NoBrainerArena

You can also like the Official No-Brainer Cartoons page here: http://www.facebook.com/NoBrainerCartoons

That's it for now. Catch ya later!
